Function, Quality, Detail
Each piece is handcrafted and built in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our work has a distinct style and is influenced by the Arts and Craft movement, Shaker furniture and Thos. Moser Design.
All our hardwoods are hand selected from a local mill. This process ensures the least amount of defects such as knots and sap wood. Also, it allows us to match the grain pattern and color for a more uniform piece of art. Consequently we work with the highest quality raw materials.
Primarily we work with cherry wood as its reddish patina and grain pattern is unmatched in beauty. Cherry is highly stable and workable as it holds edges and profiles. Also, it has the strength and stability to last for generations. Upon request we work with Black Walnut, Oak and Hard Maple as well.
Jointing methods determine the overall strength of furniture. We utilize the best joint for each piece with traditional dovetails, mortise and tenons along with sliding dovetails. Screws, epoxies and other modern jointing methods are used when appropriate.
Finally, a high-quality hand rubbed finish is applied to each piece. The finish is followed by a high-quality furniture wax that is hand buffed to a luster. This provides protection for years of use.
